Week #11 Participation Post Make-up:
1. I am a backend engineer.
2. Ryan created a website to sell notebooks, skateboards and playing cards. He also changed some of the text on the main page.
3.We added the Stripe payment plugin, the test worked. We also changed the website to be secure, which caused a bump when we tried to set up the payment option.
4. Adjust the navigation bar and make sure it works.

We finished our trailers in canva, adding audio, transitions and effects to text. We then went back to wordpress and kept making changes to the VR experience page. I finished changing the images, text, changed the logo and uploaded the trailer.

Today we attempted to make the app work in unity but it did not. Instead we uploaded some images to the oculus website for our project. Overall, I find this class hard to follow and way too fast paced for an introductory course.

We created content to use for our VR experience trailer. We generated AI images using Pixio. Then brought the AI generated images into Runway ML to create 4 second clips that we brought into canva and put together to get the trailer started. Although its interesting to see how far AI can go and that it can take an image and create a clip with movement, I'm not sure I will be using this as much for any of my work.

- Word press is a website building platform. The Divi theme provides us with multiple website templates we can choose from to customize our website.
- I'm not sure what the name of the theme was and I wasn't able to find it by retracing my steps :/ but I chose it because it had an interesting layout with images plus it was the one with the darkest look and feel out of the ones I saw, which fit the VR experience.
- Target audience for the VR experience/website would be teens and young adults.
- The current sections on the website are an about us, introduction to characters you'll see and a review section.
- I will be adding more sections, finish replacing all the images and text.

Today we learned how to create and edit our own worlds/environment using Gaia in Unity. Using the gaia manager and gaia runtime I was able to create mountains, rivers and trees in my world. I was able to make it different times of day, change the type of wind and adjusting the type of water or biome. Last week was our first introduction to using Unity, we learned how to navigate through the program and how to "play" the game. We also used the unity asset store and sketchfab to find assets to use in our game.
Some interesting but confusing stuff going on.

We learned how to use the tools in cpanel, which is used for hosting websites. It allows people to be able to manage and monitor their websites on their own, which we get to keep and use for free.99 😎 We went in and accessed files and databases in cpanel when we created our AR website. We also went over cloud computing and the differences between SAAS, IAAS and PAAS.

Today we reviewed AR, how it's applied in certain apps like Pokemon Go and filters on social media apps. Some scan your face and place objects on you or scan the area and place objects there. Some of the apps we can use to create AR experiences are meta spark studio and snap lens studio. We focused on understanding how to use ScanIt and PlaceIt to create a poster with AR features like 3D models, buttons and video. I will say it was easy to get lost trying to get things to work how you want them to, but it was interesting to see it come to life in the end.

Today I learned the difference between augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). These tools can be used not just for entertainment but to train people for work purposes. Also learned that while we were having classes via zoom some people were meeting using the oculus!
